The Christopher Share Clean Air committee is proposing an amendment to the condominium Bylaws to restrict smoking within the building. Within the next few weeks, the committee will distribute ballots and owners will be asked to vote.

To learn more about this initiative, as well as the many ways in which this will benefit owners, please take a look at the brochures and documents posted here. You'll find detailed information about the hazards of secondhand smoke, the current landscape of smoking rules and regulations, and impact this may have on property values.

Secondhand smoke contains known human carcinogens, and the U.S. Surgeon General has stated that there is no safe level of secondhand smoke. It is impossible to prevent the spread of secondhand smoke in multi-family housing. Smoke-free apartments are the future of multi-unit housing, and virtually all of the new condos/apartments and many of the older ones are adopting smoke-free rules.
